
Hot Spiced Cider
1/2 gal.apple.cider 5 allspice (whole) 2 sticks cinnamon 2 T. brown sugar 8 clovers (whole) 1 shake cinnamon(ground)
Put all ingredients in a large pan and boil for 5 minutes, stirring once or twice
Apple Crisp, Microwave
4 or 5 C. sliced apples 1/2 C. sugar 1 T. flour Topping: 3/4 C.brown sugar 1/4 tsp. soda 1/3 C.butter 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 C. oatmeal 1 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 C. flour
Mix apples, flour and sugar together; place in a 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Mix together brown sugar, butter, flour, oatmeal, soda, salt and cinnamon and sprinkle over the apple mixture. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes or microwave on high setting for 15 - 18 minutes.
Dutch Apple Pie
Plain pastry for 1 crust 1/4 tsp. cloves 6 medium sized apples 1 C. sour cream 3 T. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 C. sugar 1 1/2 T. sugar
Pare, core and slice apples medium thin. Fill pastry shell. Mix flour , sugar, and cloves together. Add sour cream, and mix thoroughtly. Pour over apples. Sprinkle cinnamon and 1 1/2 T. sugar over top. Bake in a oven at 400 F for 10 minutes, and reduce heat to 350 F and finish baking. Seve warm or chilled.
Apple Crunch Salad
2(3 oz.each)pkgs. strawberry 1/4 tsp. cinnamon flavored gelatin 1 C. diced & peeled apples 2 C. boiled water 1/2 C. diced celery 1 1/2 C apple juice or cider 1/4 C. chopped pecans
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add apple juice and cinamon. Chill until slightly thinckened; fold in apples, celery, and nuts. Spoon in to 6 cup mold.
Baked Apples with Marshmellows
1 T. flour 2 C. water 2/3 C. sugar Red food coloring 8 apples miniature marshmallows Cinnamon to taste crushed nuts
Butter pan. Add four, sugar and small amout of cinnamon. Core 8 solid apples. Arrange apples over above ingredients in pan. Add a few drops red food coloring to 2 C. water. Pour over apples. Bake at 350 F for 1 1/2 hours. While hot, garnish with miniature marshmallows and pieces of nuts.
Cinnamon Baked Apples
4 large baking apples ( 2 1/2 to 3 inch diameter) 4 tablespoons red cinnamon candies
Core apples with out cutting through bottom skin and peel about 1-inch strips of skin from stem end of each apple. If necessary cut thin slice from bottom of each apple so it will stand upright. Arrange apples in shallow baking dish. Place 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon candies in center of each apple. Microwave at High(100%) until apples are tender, 4 to 6 minutes. If you do not have a carousel , rearrange apples once.
